About the Role: 

Our client, a leading Consumer Goods company, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial management for its manufacturing operations. The role will provide financial leadership to the plant while supporting business performance through strong management accounting and commercial insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead plant finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee management accounting activities, including variance analysis, product costing, inventory, and manufacturing performance.
  • Partner closely with Plant Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to drive cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, KPIs, and management reports.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, production variances, overheads, and working capital.
  • Drive financial planning and provide actionable insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance within plant operations.
  • Lead and develop the finance team supporting the manufacturing site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is an advantage.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably within Consumer Goods, FMCG, Manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Must have strong experience in plant finance operations and management accounting.
  • Solid background in cost accounting, product costing, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong business partnering experience with Plant/Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willing to be based in Laguna and work closely with plant operations.

Geoff Curran has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Western Australia and over twenty years experience as a specialist recruitment practitioner. During that time he has worked with organizations to secure talent at the middle and senior levels.

Geoff began his recruitment career in Perth in the early 1980s. After several years with a national management consulting firm, he joined Arthur Andersen & Co. to establish its executive recruitment division.

In 1989, Geoff moved to Sydney and at Morgan and Banks specialized in recruiting for accounting and finance. He then spent two years in London, further developing his skills in this field. He returned to Sydney in 1994 and joined Margot Davis and Company, a recruitment consultancy which specialized in marketing, advertising, and marketing communications. He subsequently became a shareholder and a director in said business.

Geoff established Curran + Associates in 1998.
