About the Role: 

We are looking for an experienced Head of Logistics Operations to lead and optimize the company’s end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of products from suppliers and warehouses through to customers and distribution channels.

The role will oversee warehousing, transportation, distribution, inventory movement, 3PL operations, logistics planning, and service delivery, while driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Operations Leadership

  • Lead the overall logistics and distribution operations, including transportation, warehousing, order fulfillment, and delivery.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with the company’s commercial and supply chain objectives.
  • Ensure products are delivered accurately, efficiently, and within agreed service levels.
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs covering cost, productivity, delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and customer service.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.

Warehousing & Distribution

  • Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory handling.
  • Ensure high standards of inventory accuracy, warehouse utilization, productivity, safety, and compliance.
  • Optimize distribution routes, delivery schedules, fleet utilization, and transportation capacity.
  • Drive improvements in On-Time In-Full (OTIF), order fulfillment, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of consumer products in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Transportation & 3PL Management

  • Manage relationships and performance of third-party logistics providers, transporters, and other logistics partners.
  • Lead negotiations and performance reviews with logistics service providers.
  • Establish clear SLAs, KPIs, and governance mechanisms for 3PL partners.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce logistics spend.
  • Ensure adequate logistics capacity during peak seasons, promotions, product launches, and business growth periods.

Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and manage the logistics operating budget.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce transportation, warehousing, handling, and distribution costs without compromising service quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives across logistics operations.
  • Utilize data and analytics to identify inefficiencies, improve productivity, and support decision-making.
  • Drive automation, technology adoption, and process improvements where appropriate.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Partner closely with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless product flow.
  • Support inventory optimization and minimize stock losses, damages, obsolescence, and unnecessary logistics costs.
  • Ensure alignment between inventory availability, warehouse capacity, transportation requirements, and customer demand.
  • Support S&OP and other cross-functional supply chain planning activities

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the logistics team, including warehouse, transportation, distribution, and logistics support functions.
  • Establish clear performance objectives and accountability across the team.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence, customer service, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop succession plans and strengthen the capabilities of key team members.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure logistics operations comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain appropriate controls for inventory, transportation, warehouse security, and product handling.
  • Develop business continuity and contingency plans for logistics disruptions.
  • Ensure proper investigation and resolution of operational incidents, losses, damages, and service failures.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Logistics, Distribution, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Operations, with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong experience within Consumer Goods, FMCG, Retail, Food & Beverage, or a similarly high-volume distribution environment.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Strong background in 3PL management, transportation, warehousing, and logistics cost optimization.
  • Experience managing and developing large operational teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing operational budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Proficient in using ERP, WMS, TMS, and other supply chain technology platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  Since 2007, Geoff has been providing HR consulting services into the Philippines, relocating permanently to said Southeast Asian country in early 2009. This in-country experience has given Geoff a unique understanding of Philippine culture as well as issues that impact the sourcing of outstanding people for clients.
  Geoff joined Curran Daly & Associates in 2009. Geoff holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Business in HR. Back in Sydney, he was an active surf lifesaver, spending over ten years patrolling Coogee Beach. Geoff is also a passionate rugby and cricket tragic, and in more recent years has fashioned himself into an avid global traveler and keen scuba diver.
