We are currently looking for a strategic HR Business Partner (Manager grade) to support our business operations across the Philippines.
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources and with your customer-centric focus, you will play a key role in supporting local leaders and management in meeting the company’s business objectives. You will do this by proactively implementing strategic and tactical human resources plans that support and enhance the Manila office’s people processes, policies and programs. This includes talent attraction, retention, engagement and development, along with adherence to local legislative requirements. As a business partner, you will proactively assess and anticipate HR-related needs, developing solutions that not only address local requirements, but also support the overall global HR agenda within the company.
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hybrid working arrangement: At least 2 to 3 days in the office (BGC, Taguig) every week. But can be flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a full spectrum of both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to employees and managers.
- Partner with local management to proactively identify human resources trends, issues and opportunities. Determine options and make recommendations to senior management on how to best address these. Implement agreed upon actions, providing coaching, guidance, training, change management and support tools as required.
- Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the VP HR to develop solutions, programs and policies to address business and/or legislative requirements.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.).
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning and talent management.
- Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to build and maintain effective relations at different levels across the organisation
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and advise where appropriate to help employees and managers grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify performance gaps and to recommend effective solutions
- Strong communication skills, including influencing to support change and innovation
- Strong judgment with demonstrated ability to balance company needs while partnering with managers and employees
- Strong knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organisational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and Philippines labour law.
- Strong knowledge of local labour law, regulations and employment practices
- Strong people and leadership skills acquired in a multi-cultural corporate environment
- Well-developed negotiation skills with a persuasive and convincing nature
- Ability to create presence and to apply advocacy skills to position HR as a partner implementing business strategies and objectives
- Good understanding of HR analytics and workforce planning
- Resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 10 years progressive HR experience with BPO/IT/Global companies
- 2-3 years in a manager grade role with HRBP function
- Must have supported at least 200+ employees
- Experience managing complex employee relations issues
- Experience with change management, continuous process improvement, employee engagement and team effectiveness
- Languages: fluent English; other languages considered an asset
