Description
Responsibilities:
- Project manage small to large-scale projects, including, but not limited to:
- Remediation projects for data, calculations, uncashed checks, QDRO, etc. as well as data digitization projects
- De-risking projects such as bulk lump sums, annuity purchases, etc.
- Continuous improvement activities such as service delivery and administration strategy reviews
- Other ad-hoc administration projects such as trustee processing, late pension payments, etc.
- Help establish team roles and responsibilities
- Help drive superior, consistent project management for concurrent projects
- Translate business needs into comprehensive project plans including objectives, timeline, deliverables, budget, and quality standards
- Proactively manage changes in project scope
- Minimize exposure and risk throughout projects by managing risk and issues list
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other project stakeholders
- Track and report on the performance of teams against project goals
- Facilitate internal status meetings and prepare agendas and meeting notes
- Facilitate external status meetings and prepare agendas and meeting notes
- Manage multiple workstreams
- Proactively recognize when project challenges arise and recommend corrective actions
- Identify and help resolve issues
- Train staff and assist with the technical review of work performed by the analysts
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and organized appropriately; maintain complete and accurate work papers and audit trails
- Apply Professional Excellence concepts and use tools to ensure efficient and quality output/service delivery
- Work cooperatively with other team members (Willis Towers Watson plan administrators, system teams, actuaries) to contribute to successful projects and to ensure unified delivery of services
- Serve as a contact with client personnel
- Adhere to plan documents and government regulations in administering plans
- Assist in developing Shared Delivery intellectual capital and operations that can be leveraged to future projects
- Provide support in the sales and marketing process
- Contribute to team discussions and training activities
- Be accountable to team members for agreements and promises
- Work independently asking for assistance when required
The Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or any other major with significant quantitative course work.
- Five or more years of experience performing actuarial valuation, pension administration, and/or data management/remediation
- Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of defined benefit plan administration
- Experience interpreting routine and moderately complex plan provisions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work experience that demonstrates strong technical, and/or client service and leadership skills
- Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed the standards of the client
- Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple projects within established deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and have good attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office and PowerPoint skills, and project management tools
- Solid expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word (i.e., pivot tables and lookup functions)
- Ability to work with remote teams and travel as needed
